Starting at 5 a.m. on the second day of the temple stay, participants can witness monks ritualistically chant and burn wooden prayer tablets called Gomagi. These prayers, when burned, catch the attention of worshipped deities. At Chogosonshi, protection is granted by Bishamonten, a member of the seven lucky deities.
