April 2023

As we welcome spring, Wellness Travel University is beefing up its educational outreach. Mark April 19 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time on your calendars. That’s when we are presenting our second seminar for members of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA). The topic is Wellness Tourism: Definitions, Trends and Opportunities. It will be presented by Wellness Travel University’s Editor-at-Large, Laura Powell.

Earlier this month, we hosted another webinar about How to Craft a Wellness Package. Thank you to the 200 of you who registered. ASTA members can view it on demand here.

Meantime, we are starting to gear up for Organic Spa Media’s 2023 NYC Experience Wellness & Travel media event. While in-person attendance is media-exclusive, agents can tune in virtually to panel discussions featured in the Wellness Around the Globe Symposium from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time.

Members of Wellness Travel University will also be invited to attend an in-person Wellness After-Party in New York City between 4:00 to 7:00. Be on the lookout for that invitation.

Happiness is a big part of being well. So, it might be smart to guide wellness-seeking clients to a vacation in one of the world’s happiest countries. According to the 2023 World Happiness Report, that means you will likely end up sending them to Northern Europe.

For decades, travelers have headed to spas for their wellness vacations. But thanks to the pandemic, the wellness hospitality industry, particularly overseas, has been shifting focus from pampering to preventive care. That’s giving integrative and medical wellness strong momentum across the globe.

Wellness vacations are trending, according to the 2023 American Express Global Trends Report. People are gravitating toward destinations and resorts that will help them decompress and feel healthier.
